John R. Bednarz practices in the areas of patent preparation and prosecution in the electrical and computer technologies.  John also has experience in trademark preparation and prosecution.  John has over fifteen years of experience and is comfortable working with startups, the largest corporations in the world, and everything in between.   

 

Prior to joining Patent Portfolio Builders, John was a shareholder at an AmLaw 100 law firm in Kansas City and practiced at multiple intellectual property boutiques in Washington D.C.  John has extensive experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to computer architectures, internet systems, financial systems, autonomous vehicle systems, additive manufacturing, communications, mobile devices, mobile applications, databases, security and cryptography, artificial intelligence and machine learning, healthcare systems, user interfaces, and other types of computer-implemented technologies as well as a variety of mechanical technologies.  John has assisted in authoring papers related to patentable subject matter and computer-implemented technologies.   

 

John received his B.S. in computer science from Bucknell University and was awarded his J.D. from Syracuse University of College of Law.  John is admitted to practice in Virginia, Missouri, Kansas, and the District of Columbia and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
